    SBM Management is searching for a Safety Manager!  This position works with and through management and our client, to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures.  Knowledge and skills in managing safety programs, procedures, and policies. Assist in the achievement of reduction of incidents/accidents and supports operation with their prospective requirements.



    • Manage safety programs, policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including California Occupational Safety and Health Administration
    • Advises client and operations management on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions
    • Plans and implements training for employees in work site safety practices
    • Maintains safety files and records
    • Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
    • Conducts near miss post-accident investigation and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior management
    • Prefer experience in Cal-OSHA, Hazwoper and waste disposal regulatory requirements
    • Excellent Computer, communication and training skills
    • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
    • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
    • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
    • Monitor compliance to policies by inspecting employees, vendors and operations
    • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions

    Supervisory Responsibilities 

    • This position has no supervisory responsibilities but provides support to vendors and operation and guides partners and employees on safety functions and matters.


    • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or three to five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Knowledge of health, safety, and transportation regulations required
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required
    • Experience safety compliance of vendors
    • GMP and Lab experience
    • Advanced Safety Certification desired but not required
    • Prefer experience in Cal-OSHA, Hazwoper and waste disposal regulatoryu requirements 

    Work Availability 

    • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by
    • Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business

    Compensation:  The salary for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
